Building automation in the Frankfurt Eurotheum, an office and residential block
The automation of all systems of a building allows a it to be adapted flexibly to any alterations in its use. In order to follow through this motto in the newly built Frankfurter Eurotheum, the investors have used INTERBUS throughout.
Eurotheum is a luxury office and residential block in the heart of Frankfurt. The building has 32 storeys above ground level and three below, with an overall height of 110 m. In addition to the office floors, there is also the Eurolounge, a reception and business center. Starting on the 23rd storey, there are luxury furnished apartments with full service for high demands. In order to meet these demands, intelligent networking of the following systems is imperative: "Measurement, Control, Regulation (MCR)", electrotechnology, lighting, safety und daylight control. INTERBUS networks all the sensors and actuators with the corresponding controllers. The redundant architecture enables the complete fire protection and smoke-extraction concept to be safely controlled by INTERBUS. Thanks to consistent decentralization, the use of INTERBUS has meant that the space required in control cabinets in the top storeys has been cut to zero, and this in turn has created a high degree of flexibility and additional areas for rent.
