Today, the PC is the platform for open and closed-loop control and visualization tasks. The PPC 5006 CP machine control system is a new product in the Phoenix Contact product program - a combination of industrial PC with touch display, PLC and HMI in one single compact device. This control system is equipped with a boot operating system, NVRAM, PLC switch and diagnostic LEDs. It behaves like a conventional PLC. In connection with the IPC functionality, the PPC 5006 CP offers all options for communication via standard interfaces and different fieldbuses. Thank to its high performance, the PPC 5006 CP can take over control and visualization tasks of the machine.

The integrated soft PLC turns the industrial PC to a powerful PLC. PLC programs are processed and loaded and debugging functionalities for programming, startup and maintenance of PLC controlled machines and systems are provided. Multiprog is a programming system for machine control systems and supports all IEC 61131 languages. These are: Instruction List (IL), Structured Text (ST), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Ladder Diagram (LD) and Sequential Function Chart (SFC). In addition, this programming system contains an integrated machine sequential function chart. This MSFC contains many programming languages, a clearly structured project management system, a completely graphical editor as well as cross compiling and can be programmed easily.
In addition to the soft PLC, the control system's machine visualization is easy to use and the object dynamization is powerful. Object instances can be reused, which makes for very effective operation. The PPC 5006 CP is a high-performance machine control system thanks to an integrated fieldbus master including a configuration tool for standard fieldbus systems such as INTERBUS, PROFIBUS, CANopen, and DeviceNet.
