New to the range: Robot trailing cables for flexible use in machines and systems

In machines and systems, sensor/actuator cables are increasingly being used in power track chains, on rotary and swivel tables, and industrial robots. Here, the cables are subjected to high bending and torsional stress.

Phoenix Contact can now supply a special robot trailing cable range directly from stock. These cables are designed to withstand more than ten million bending cycles at high travel speeds and accelerations.

This is achieved by special TPE wire insulation, which enables excellent sliding action even at high operating temperatures. In addition, the cables are also welding sputter-resistant and halogen-free.

If several sensors or actuators are required, more cables must therefore be laid. In order to bundle these, a sensor/actuator box with a highly flexible master cable has been added to the range. The master cable is also able to withstand high bending and torsional stress.

By using the box, the cabling time as well as the number of cables within the drag chain can be reduced

For greater stability, the M12 slots are equipped with metal thread; the housing of the sensor/actuator box is made from rugged plastic and fully encapsulated.
