Surge protection for wind-powered systems with KEMA approval

The new VAL-MS 800/30 VF/FM surge protective device for wind power provides a block that was developed specifically for the protection of the rotor of double fed asynchronous generators (DFIG).

Protection of synchronous generators is also possible for permanently excited machines and generator-side inverters for all generator types.

These applications require three blocks that can be comfortably connected to the MPB 18/1-6 assembly jumpers.

Protection features perfectly adapted to wind power systems

The product has application-oriented protective properties and is quite durable due to the leakage current-free execution. The connector and base element form one unit. The connectors are mechanically interlocked and are highly resistant to shocks and vibration.

The installation in separate housings is not required - this saves additional costs. If a connector displays a fault due to overload caused by surge voltages, an indicator directly indicates the status. It can then be easily replaced.

The floating PDT allows remote monitoring of the arrester. The protection concept for the widely-used double fed asynchronous induction generator (DFIG) is rounded off to the stator side with the VAL-MS 750/30/3+0-FM block.

All functional blocks now have KEMA and ÖVE approval.
