VALVETRAB compact – Performance in a tight space

VALVETRAB compact, the new family of products from Phoenix Contact shows itself from its slender side. With a width of just 12 mm per channel, this EN Type 2 surge arrester is the slimmest in the world and still has excellent performance data. Over a width of just 48 mm, you can create excellent protection against surge voltages in a 5-conductor system. Thanks to the high rated voltage of 350 V AC, all normed requirements are fulfilled worldwide (in acc. with IEC 61643). The arrester attains a protective level of 1.5 kV, thus fulfilling the requirements in accordance with EN Type 3.

As already shown in the overview, VALVETRAB compact and the arrester combination FLASHTRAB compact both offer rotating base elements and plugs. It therefore makes no difference, whether the feed lines come in from above, as, for example, in industrial installations, or from below as in building installation. VALVETRAB compact always fits, labeling remain legible, and rapid connection is guaranteed. The diverse labeling options, be it in the base element or in the plug, contribute to making handling convenient and clear. The BI-Connect terminal blocks provide 2 connection options, so the arrester can also be connected with V-type through wiring.

The operating state of all protective paths is monitored. Visual status indication of each module is mechanical, i.e. it requires no current. Monitoring also goes through a common floating PDT contact. This makes it possible to set up a service-friendly remote signaling. Display the status of the arresters wherever you need it.

VALVETRAB compact offers not only space saving, but also numerous technical innovations. Choosing the correct arrester is now made easier with the addition of the modules for 3, 4, and 5-conductor systems. Save on space, but not on the protection for your systems and devices.
