SURGETRAB – Surge protection for measuring sensors
How do you protect your measured value data against surge voltages? We have all had experience of the complex installation of surge protection devices for measuring sensors in the field. In the past, installation boxes with IP67 protection were installed for the measuring sensors in the field.

With the new SURGETRAB surge protection devices, this is now a thing of the past. The arrester takes the protective circuit directly to the measuring sensor without any extra accessories.

Location and applications
For intrinsically safe circuits in Ex protection zones 0, 1 and 2, there is version S-PT-EX(I)-24DC.
Typical areas of application include Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus applications, as well as 0(4)-20 mA current loops and similar standard signals.

Innovative shield connection technology integrated on the PCB
You are saved of the time-consuming process of connecting the cable shield in a PCB terminal block. Inserting the cable in the shield fast connection and connecting the shield potential to the PCB is all one step. This system guarantees ideal contacting of the shield and also saves installation time.

YOU decide on the shielding concept
By removing a preinstalled bridge, the shield potential can be grounded indirectly via a gas-filled surge arrester.

All the advantages at a glance
- A cut in installation work by using the direct connection on the measuring sensor
- M20x1.5 external thread
- For fast and practical assembly
- Corrosion-proof and sealed to IP67
- Integrated shield fast connection
- Variable shielding concept (direct or indirect shielding)
- PCB can be drawn out
- Preinstalled arrester conductor to connect to plastic housings
Save time and money when you protect your products against surge voltages. The SURGETRAB arresters will be available from the 3rd quarter of this year.
