Direct plug-in method
Direct plug connectors in the ZEC 1, ZEC 1,5, and ZEC LPV product ranges make contact directly on the PCB without the need for additional pin strips. The connectors are simply inserted in the contact pads located on the edge of the 1.6 mm thick PCB. The pads have been integrated into the top and bottom of the PCB in the layout.
Direct plug connectors have a modular design. The connectors are thus keyed by adding corresponding segments with a fixed side panel at any position. A slot is created in the PCB according to this position. This reliably prevents incorrect connection and polarity reversal of the connectors.
Two spring-loaded engagement catches lock the connectors in place on the PCB. The interlocks engage in the correspondingly positioned holes on the PCB. Direct plug connectors are divided into two types:
1. Conductor-to-PCB connection
The conductor connection uses spring-cage technology and is operated from the front by means of a screwdriver. The clamping space supports solid and stranded conductors up to 1.5 mm² (1 mm² with 3.5 mm pitch) with or without ferrules.
The connectors are labeled using SK 3,5/2,8, SK 5/3,8, and SK 7,5/3,8 self-adhesive marker cards.

2. PCB-to-PCB connection
Like the conductor-to-PCB connectors, PCB-to-PCB connectors are also available with 3.5 mm, 5 mm, and 7.5 mm pitch for nominal voltages up to 400 V and for currents up to 10 A. A modular housing structure combined with the direct plug-in method provides maximum flexibility
